DURKAN, Patrick H., a Representative from Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties; born, February 28, 1855 in Jenkins Township, Luzerne County, Pa.; coal miner; enumerator, United States Census (1880); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884 and 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); elected, director and secretary, Ransom Poor Board, Pittston; watchman; died, February 3, 1923 in Inkerman, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
