CHADWICK, Robert, a Representative from Delaware County; born, November 23, 1834 in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England; private, Company I, 114th Regiment, “Collis Zouaves,” Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); wheel-wright; served, council, city of Chester (1877-1882); wagon manufacturing; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in in 1880, 1882, 1884, and 1886; board of trustees, Soldiers’ Home at Erie (2 years); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Chester (1889-1894); died, April 21, 1902 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
