CALLAGHAN, Edward, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, May 24, 1850 in Mount Savage, Allegany County, Md.; shoe cobbler; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1887 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1889 term; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1888); unsuccessful campaign, President of the United States (1916); unsuccessful campaign, Governor of Pennsylvania (1926); died, May 5, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
