THOMAS, Joseph, Jr., a Representative from Butler County; born, March 9, 1846 in Brady’s Bend, Armstrong County, Pa.; farmer; machinist; engaged, oil business; elected, burgess, Karn’s City (3 terms); school director, Karn’s City (9 years); president, Butler County School Directors Association; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1889 term; unsucccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1890, 1892); engaged, Olean Oil Company.
