ASHMEAD, Howard Baldwin, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in 1859; clerk and broker, United States Custom Service, Philadelphia; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, November 5, 1889 to serve the remaining 1889 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1891 term; died, January 9, 1899 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fernwood Cemetery (now Fernwood Cemetery and Mausoleum), Fernwood, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
