MULHEARN, Edward Michael, a Representative from Carbon County; born, June 15, 1849 in Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe), Carbon County, Pa.; graduated, College of St. Thomas (now Villanova University), 1871; slate picker; canal boatman (4 years); attorney-at-law (1873-1923); elected, District Attorney, Carbon County (1881-1887); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1886); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); appointed, solicitor, common council, Mauch Chunk; unsuccessful campaign, judge, Carbon County (1902); died, November 14, 1923 in Mauch Chunk, Carbon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
