HICKMAN, John Wilson, a Representative from Chester County; born, April 17, 1831 in Edenton, Chester County, Pa.; engaged in milling business; school director; assistant assessor of internal revenue during the Civil War; elected, council, Coatesville; justice of the peace; farmer; owner, livery stable; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1886 and 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); died, December 18, 1906 in Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Russellville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
