HASSETT, James Celestian, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, February 12, 1836 in Mallow, County Cork, Ireland; brush maker; tobacconist; meter inspector, Philadelphia Gas Works (1858-1861); aldermen, 2nd Ward, Philadelphia; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1882; reelected to serve for 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1892); clerk, United States Postal Service, Philadelphia County (1895-1905); died, July 2, 1910 in the city of  Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
