EVANS, Lewis H., a Representative from Chester County; born, July 1, 1832 in Chester County; attended, Gause’s Academy, Chester County; first lieutenant, Company K, 33rd Regiment, 4th Pennsylvania Volunteer Reserves (1861-1864, Civil War); farmer; elected, register of wills, Chester County (1872-1875); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1886 and 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); died, February 7, 1904 in Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Exton, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
