DRAVO, John Fleming, a Representative from Beaver County; born, October 29, 1819 in West Newtown, Westmoreland County, Pa.; attended, Allegheny College; engaged, coal business (1840-1880); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1860);  engaged, coke trade (1863-1883); director, Allegheny Home; vice-president, Pennsylvania Reform School; director, People’s Insurance Company; director, Tradesmen’s National Bank; president, Beaver Female College; general manager, Pittsburgh and Connellsville Gas Coal and Coke Company; appointed, surveyor, Port of Pittsburgh (1881); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1887 and 1889 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); died, September 30, 1905 in Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Beaver Cemetery and Mausoleum, Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
