CHALFANT, Thomas J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., February 14, 1858; advertising agent, the Pennsylvania Railroad; elected, jury commissioner, Allegheny County (1885-1888); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1889 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); died, August 20, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Smithfield Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
