SHEFFER, Edward, a Representative from Adams County, born, May 29, 1835 in Paradise Township, York County, Pa.; huckster; farmer; elected, school board, East Berlin; elected, chief burgess, East Berlin (1885-1892); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in November of 1889 in a Special Election; reelected to the House in 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); died, March 2, 1923 in Dickinson Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hampton Meeting House Cemetery, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
