RYND, Benjamin Franklin, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, April 1, 1838 in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Allegheny College ; engaged, lumber and oil businesses; elected, council, Westfield, NY (1870-1872); elected, mayor, Westfield (1872-1874); elected, council, Allegheny City (1882-1885, 1889-1890); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1886); reelected to the House in 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); died, June 2, 1911 in Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York; interred, Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York.
