ROWLAND, Lafayette, a Representative from Pike County; born, January 16, 1837 in Lackawaxen Township, Pike County, Pa.; attended, Fort Edward Institute, NY; teacher; farmer; lumberer; elected, treasurer, Pike County (1874-1875); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1889 and 1891; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1895-1898); died October 31, 1903; interred, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, Pike County, Pennsylvania.
