JONES, William Knight, a Representative from Potter County; born in Coudersport, Potter County, Pa., June 22, 1849; land surveyor; partner, A.F. Jones & Son, mercantile business; organized, Bank of Coudersport; realtor; elected, burgess, Coudersport (1880-1881); elected, council, Coudersport (1884-1885); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1888); director, Citizens Water Company of Coudersport; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); general manager and cashier, Coudersport Manufacturing Company; died, February 3, 1900 in Syracuse, Onondoga County, New York; interred, Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport, Potter County, Pennsylvania.
