HERR, David Shopp, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, June 21, 1833 in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, Pa.; horse dealer; appointed, board of commissioners to locate a site for water works, name and lay out streets, and extend city limits of Harrisburg (1860-1876); elected, council, Harrisburg (2 terms); elected, treasurer, Harrisburg (1874-1875); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1890; died while in office, October 24, 1892 in Manayunk, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
