GENTNER, Charles R., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., May 3, 1844; private, Company D, 70th Regiment, 6th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861, Civil War); engaged in real estate and conveyancing; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1875 term; reelected to the House for 10 more consecutive terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1893 term; saloon operator; employed, United States Mint, Department of Treasury, Philadelphia; died, March 9, 1916 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
