BOYD, Clement G., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, July 28, 1836 in Mount Hope, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania), 1855; teacher (3 years); tax collector, Penn Township (17 years); assessor, Penn Township (1864-1877); auditor, Penn Township (6 years); clerk, John Shaffer, mercantile store (5 years); farmer; organizer, Lititz Agricultural and Mutual Fire Insurance Company and Penn Township Mutual Fire Insurance Association; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); elected, prison inspector, Lancaster County (1894-1905); died, July 4, 1911 in Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
