BALDWIN, Alfred Clement, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, February 5, 1851 in Cains, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Lititz Academy; farmer; proprietor, Baldwin’s Store, mercantile business; elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1879); director, Gap National Bank; director, Lancaster County Mutual Insurance Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1886, 1888, and 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senator (1892); died, May 12, 1912 in Cains, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Compass, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
