WEST, Joseph G., a Representative from Chester County; born, May 2, 1834 in East Pikeland Township, Chester County, Pa.; attended, Strode’s School and Oakdale Seminary; graduated, University of Pennsylvania, 1860; school teacher, Lebanon County; physician; proprietor, drug store; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Kemblesville, Pa. (1862-1872, 1875-1885); elected, school director, Kemblesville; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1890 and 1892; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1894); died, February 10, 1917 in Kemblesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
