TEWKSBURY, Edward Marvin, a Representative from Columbia County; born, September 10, 1837 in Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, Pa.; teacher; farmer; dairyman; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1875); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1882, 1886, 1888); elected, auditor, Columbia County (1884-1885); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1890 and 1892; gubernatorial appointee, Farmers’ National Congress, Savannah, Ga. (1893-1894); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1894); unsuccessful campaign, associate judge, Columbia County (1896); died, January 15, 1901 in Conyngham Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; interred, McIntire Cemetery, Catawissa Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
