TAGGART, Austin Lee, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, November 21, 1836 in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886, 1888 and 1890; unsuccessful campaign, United States Senate (1891); seated as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1893 term as result of contested election, April 18, 1893; died while in office, February 15, 1894 in King of Prussia, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Montgomery Cemetery, West Norriton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
