RUPP, Joseph C., a Representative from Lehigh County; born, March 19, 1848 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pa.; farmer; graduated, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania), 1870; teacher; elected, assessor, Upper Macungie Township; elected, school director, Upper Macungie Township; elected, recorder of deeds, Lehigh County (1884-1887); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1892; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1894, 1896); engaged, real estate business; died, December 14, 1933 in Northampton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Fogelsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
