QUIGGLE, James Clarence, a Representative from Clinton County; born, December 29, 1851 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pa.; attended school in Antwerp, Belgium; served, United States consular agent at Cornwall, Canada (1871-1872); farmer; employed, office of the chief secretary of the United States Centennial Commission (1876); elected, treasurer and auditor, Lock Haven; elected, justice of the peace (1879-1887, 1890); presidential appointee, United States Consul at Port Stanley and St. Thomas, Canada (1887-1890); elected, to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1890 and 1892; resigned from the House, October 10, 1893; died, January 20, 1921 in Washington, District of Columbia; interred, Quiggle Cemetery, McElhattan, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
