SHUEY, Daniel Conrad, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, August 11, 1843 in Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, Pa.; private, Company K, 76th Regiment, "Keystone Zouaves," Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); blacksmith; butcher; director, Northwestern Fire Insurance Company; engaged, milling business; unsuccessful campaign for election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1892); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1894; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1896); died, August 30, 1898 in Taylorsville (now Washington Crossing), Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Ashland, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
