SCHWARZ, Richard F., a Representative from Monroe County; born, October 31, 1853 in Dessau, Duchy of Anhalt, Germany; bookkeeper; traveling salesman; farmer; elected, auditor, Stroud Township, Monroe County; elected, justice of the peace; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1892 and 1894; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1898); appointed, board of trustees, East Stroudsburg Normal School (now East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania) (1895-1905); elected, vice president, East Stroudsburg Normal School (1899-1905); elected, delegate, Democratic State Conventions; lecturer, Farmer’s Institute, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture; died, December 1, 1909 in Mount Pleasant, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
