SAUNDERS, Oscar P., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 28, 1849 in Lewes, Sussex County, De.; educated, Old Front Grammar School; graduated, St. Joseph’s College; machinist; confectioner; sales, W. E & N. H. Camp, cracker manufacturer; elected, school board (8 years; president, 6 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat to the 1895 term; seated as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1897 term as a result of contested election; Sworn-In, May 18, 1897 to serve the remaining 1897 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); saloon keeper; died, December 23, 1914 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
