REESE, Daniel J., a Representative from Luzerne County; born, December 7, 1857 in Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales; attended, Wyoming Seminary; coal miner; member, State Board of the Miners’ and Laborers’ Amalgamated Association; elected, assessor, Plymouth Borough (1889-1890); executive secretary, Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties (1891-1892); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1892 and 1894; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1896); poet; elected, United Mine Workers delegate, Federation of Labor Convention (1900); died, May 28, 1903 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shawnee Cemetery, Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
