PATTERSON, John Knox, a Representative from Blair County; born, September 15, 1857 in Newry, Blair County, Pa.; attended, Hollidaysburg Academy;  teacher (1872-1878); fireman, Pennsylvania Railroad, Pittsburg (1879-1881); lawyer (1887-1901); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Republican Convention (1890); elected, select council, 8th ward, Altoona (1890-1891); elected, common council, Altoona (1892-1893); chair, Republican County Committee, (1893, 1896 and 1900); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1894; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); died, September 29, 1901 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
