MATTOX, John L., a Representative from Venango County; born, July 15, 1859 in Mill Creek Township, Mercer County, Pa.; graduated, Westminster College, 1883; teacher; principal, Pleasantville schools (5 years); attorney-at-law (1889-1920); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1893 and 1895 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1897 term; died, April 18, 1924 in Tionesta, Forest County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
