HERSHEY, Washington Long, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 14, 1843 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; private, Company B, 45th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); farmer; engaged, stock raising; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representative as a Republican in 1894; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); tobacconist; died, April 29, 1926 in Florin, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Silver Spring Cemetery, Silver Spring, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
