SHIFFER, Adam, a Representative from Northampton County; born, May 2, 1838 in Northampton County, Pa.; farmer; clerk; shoemaker; partner, Shiffer, Boyer & Woehrle, wholesale and retail hatters; unsuccessful campaign for election as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1896; seated as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1897 term as a result of contested election, June 8, 1897; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); died, January 28, 1926 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Easton Cemetery, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
