KRATZ, Henry W., a Representative from Montgomery County; born, July 31, 1834 in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; attended, Washington Hall Collegiate Institute; teacher; justice of the peace (1862-1882); transcribing clerk, Pennsylvania State Senate (1866-1867); president, board of trustees, Ursinus College (1868-1911); surveyor and conveyancer; elected, recorder of deeds, Montgomery County (1882-1885); chair, Montgomery County Republican Committee; director and president, National Bank of Schwenksville; member, State Board of Agriculture (6 years); elected, Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1894 and 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); died, October 4, 1917 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Luke’s Reformed Church and Providence Cemetery, Trappe, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
