KING, John William, a Representative from Lycoming County; born, February 16, 1846 in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; attended, Muncy Normal School; private, Company K, 88th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1865, Civil War); teacher (24 years); farmer; elected, auditor, assessor and school director, Muncy Creek Township; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1894 and 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1900, 1902); vice president, Grangers National Bank of Hughesville; died, September 9, 1913 in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Huntersville Trinity Cemetery, Huntersville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
