MORAHAN, John Joseph, a Representative from Luzerne County; born, February of 1863 in Ireland; graduated, Wyoming Commercial College, 1885; miner, Hillside Coal and Iron Company (1886-1897); elected, auditor, Pleasant Valley, Pa. (1887-1888); electrical foreman, Pennsylvania Coal Company (1891-1894); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); foreman, Hillside Company (1901-1902); coal mine machinist; elected, justice of the peace, Avoca (1899-1906); died, June 17, 1918 in Avoca, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Marys Catholic Cemetery, Avoca, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
