WEILER, Jeremiah N., a Representative from Carbon County; born, August 18, 1861 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pa.; messenger, Western Union Telegraph Company; railroad telegrapher, Central Railroad of New Jersey; elected, secretary, State Legislative Board of Railroad Employees; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1894); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1898); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1902); unsuccessful reelection campaign to the House as a Socialist (1902); died, November 3, 1904 in Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe), Carbon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union-West End Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
