TIPTON, William Henry, a Representative from Adams County; born, August 5, 1850 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pa.; elected, burgess, Gettysburg (4 terms); elected, council, Gettysburg; photographer; contributor to Wilson’s Journal, the British Journal, and Photographic Mosaics; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); died, September 20, 1929 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
