VARE, Edwin Hornberger, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, July 19, 1862 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; contractor, Wilson and Vare; contractor, Vare Brothers; elected, delegate, Republican State Conventions; member, 39th Ward Republican Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1897 term; resigned from the House, July 1, 1897; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1909-1922); died in the office of Senate, October 16, 1922 in Ambler, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
