MURDOCK, William Miller, a Representative from Washington County; born, August 29, 1844 in Carmichaels, Greene County, Pa.; chief bugler, Company K, 160th Regiment, 15th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1862-1865, Civil War); elected, school director, Charleroi; elected, president, city council, Charleroi; tailor and clothing merchant; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); died, December 2, 1903 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
