NOECKER, James A., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born September 20, 1868 in South Manheim Township, Schuylkill County, Pa.; graduated, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania), 1891; assistant principal, Ashland High School; principal, Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe) Township schools; attorney-at-law (1897-1928); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); incorporator and solicitor, First National Bank of Schuylkill Haven; deputy district attorney, Schuylkill County (1901-1903); unsuccessful campaign, District Attorney, Schuylkill County (1902); elected, chair, Schuylkill County Democratic Convention (1903-1905, 1908); elected, solicitor, Schuylkill Haven (1903-1928); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1904); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1906); appointed, state appeals attorney, Fourth District of Schuylkill County (1917); died, June 10, 1928 in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Schuylkill Haven Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
