HERSH, Dr. John G., a Representative from Montgomery County; born, April 23, 1852 in Upper Hannover Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; attended, Mt. Pleasant Seminary, Boyertown; M.D., University of Pennsylvania, 1876; physician; chief burgess, East Greenville (6 years); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1891); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1898; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1900); died, February 23, 1919 in East Greenville Borough, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery, East Greenville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
