MACKEY, Dr. Nathan Callender, a Representative from Lackawanna County; born, September 7, 1848 in Harford, Susquehanna County, Pa.; attended, Mansfield State Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); attended, Yale College (now Yale University), 1873-1874; M.D., medical department, University of New York (now New York University), 1875; school teacher; physician; unsuccessful campaign, coroner, Susquehanna County (1878); elected, council, Waverly; elected, burgess, Waverly; elected, school board, Waverly; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1888;  reelected to the House in 1896 and 1898; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1890, 1900); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1908); director, Providence Bank; died, April 21, 1930 in Waverly, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
