BARE, John Spanogle, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, April 3, 1847 in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, Pa.; graduated, Quaker City Business College; organized, captain, Company A, 5th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1889-1898, Spanish-American War); engaged in mercantile and lumber business; elected, register and recorder, Huntingdon County (1884-1890); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1892, 1896 and 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1894, 1900); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1906); died, January 12, 1927 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Union Cemetery, Mount Union, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
