BROOKS, John Bertram, a Representative from Erie County; born, March 29, 1871 in Geneva, Crawford County, Pa.; B.A., University of Michigan, 1895; LL.B., University of Michigan, 1896; attorney-at-law (1897-1959); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1899 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1901 term; chair, board of trustees, Edinboro State Teachers College (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), (1933-1938); died, November 19, 1959 in Millcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Erie Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
