MOORE, James N., a Representative from Butler County; born, August 23, 1859 in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, Pa.; graduated, Grove City College, 1880; teacher (4 years); lawyer (1882-1930); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1891); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1895, 1897, and 1899 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); journal clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1903-1906); assistant chief clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1907-1909); appointed, director, Pennsylvania Legislative Reference Bureau (1909-1930); acting parliamentarian, Pennsylvania House of Representatives; died, October 17, 1930 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
