LEWIS , Edgar Darwin, a Representative from Bradford County; born, April 11, 1859 in Wyalusing, Bradford County, Pa.; graduated, Susquehanna Collegiate Institute (now Susquehanna University), 1887; farmer; clerk and salesman, mercantile stores; elected, burgess, Wyalusing (1892-1893); organized, Merchants’ and Businessmen’s Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Harrisburg (1895-1946); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); proprietor, hardware store (1900-1912); traveling sales, wholesale hardware business (1912-1923); elected, commissioner, Bradford County (1924-1927); unsuccessful campaign,  commissioner, Bradford County (1927); director, The National Bank of Wyalusing; died, October 23, 1946 in Wyalusing, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Merryall Cemetery, Merryall, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
