Scanlon; clerk, Democratic Caucus, Pennsylvania House of Representatives; leader, 7th Ward Democratic Executive Committee; vice-chair, Philadelphia County Democratic Committee (1977-1980); 3rd Vice Chair, Philadelphia City Democratic Committee; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat to serve the 178th District (1975-1982); reelected to the House to serve the 180th District (1983-1984); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1985 term; died, October 8, 1991 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Resurrection Cemetery, Cornwell Heights, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
