BROPHY, Thomas Murphy, Sr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., February 22, 1859; employed, Zug & Co., sheet mill; employed, Shoenberger’s mill; proprietor, Bayardstown House, hotel and saloon; co-owner, Manning Hotel; elected, council, Pittsburgh (1883 -1897); elected, board of education, Pittsburgh (5 years); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1887, 1891, 1895); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1897 and 1899 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); died, March 25, 1904, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
