ACKERMAN, Adam C., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, March 21, 1853 in Luzerne County, Pa.; attended, Wiltbank’s Business College; shoe fitter apprentice; cabinet maker; retail grocer; elected, constable, 29th Ward, Philadelphia (1882-1897); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1893); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican for the 1887 and 1889 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1891 term; magistrate, Philadelphia (1890-1895); died, June 28, 1909 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
