COCHRAN, Harry Young, a Representative from Fayette County; born in Connellsville, Fayette County, Pa., March 9, 1945; graduated, Connellsville High School, 1963; graduated, Staunton (Va.) Military Academy; A.A., business marketing, Babson Institute, 1967; B.S., education, California State College (now Pennsylvania Western University, California); served, Commanding Generals staff, 3rd Armor Division, United States Army (1967-1968); businessman; member, Fayette County Democratic Executive Committee; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1978 and 1980; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1982); elected, council, Connellsville; elected, treasurer, Connellsville; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Treasurer (1988); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to House (2006, 2020).
